A very Merry Christmas indeed

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!!
Ours this year was a little strange as we spent it in a hotel room.

Christmas eve we went to my mom's house for Christmas lunch, we all had a BLAST watching Marlee open her gifts. She was so excited to show everyone what Santa brought her (My mom wrote a letter to Santa and asked him to stop by her house early since Marlee wouldn't be there Christmas day) She got so many toys! We had a wonderful lunch and then headed to Curtis' mom's house so we could get the car loaded and head out to Wisconsin.

After 7 hours on the road we made it!

Curtis' sister moved to WI about 10 months ago and wasn't able to take the time off from work to come home, so we took Christmas to her. We stayed for 3 days and had a blast. Her boyfriend made us a FANTASTIC dinner and we all headed to the hotel to see what Santa brought for us. We opened gifts and watched a movie. Very relaxing and fun, but it was really strange and rather sad that my family wasn't there. This is the first Christmas in 25 years that I haven't seen my mom Christmas day.

Saturday we packed the car up and headed to Milwaukee to go to the Harley Davidson museum. Curtis & his step-dad both ride motorcycles so we thought it would be fun... we were right, it was so cool! There are close to 450 Harley's on display in the 130,000 sq ft museum. We saw the oldest known Harley from like 1903 (it was basically a peddle bike with a battery and very small motor, I'm not sure how it worked, but at least I can say that I saw it). We learned how they were made, what they have been used for over the years (police vehicles, delivery vehicles, post office vehicles, racing, military, leisure, pretty much everything). At the end there are 10 bikes that you can sit on to take pictures. I only sat on one as I'm not really a riding kind of girl, but it was fun to watch Curtis and Scott try them all. They have a restaurant, bar and gift shop on the grounds as well. It really was HUGE place and if I'm ever in Milwaukee again... I will go again. Even after 2 hours there, I know there was stuff I missed.

We spent about 2 hours there and then hopped in the car for the 7 hour ride home.

All and all I think everyone had a really good time.

We got home really late Saturday and when we got up Sunday, Curtis and I exchanged gifts with each other... not to brag or anything, but I must have been a REALLY good girl this year. Earrings, bracelet, watch, and some DS games from my dear husband!

I hope 2009 is a wonderful year for all of you, I know I'm looking forward to it!!

Fun times with the one I love

I love the holidays and am looking forward to starting new traditions with my own family. We were at Walmart the other day and I happened upon a gingerbread house kit... I told Curtis I wanted to buy it so we could make one... he of course said no (he must think putting together gingerbread houses are no manly) and I bought it anyway. When he got home from work Monday I had the table & all our "ingredients" ready to go.
Curtis was hesitant, but once we started it turned out to be a lot of fun. A new tradition in the Moore house was created.
We even had a little help from another family member....

Curtis put the "frame"together while I snapped away with the camera
A little break to lick frosting off his fingers
Can you see the concentration in my face? I was working hard.
Princess showed up to help, but decided she wanted to eat the frosting too. I let her do it long enough to get a 30 second video and then we had to move her away and resume our work.
Our self portrait with the finished "house"
... And of course, the finished product. Curtis thought he would make ice sickles (is that how you spell it?) out of frosting, they ended up being globs all over the house. Oh well, we had a lot of fun and that's all the matters. Tonight... the tree goes up!! Hooray

I hope you all had a wonderful, relaxing Thanksgiving!

Vote???

I'm proud to say I did!

I need a little help

My grandma was hospitalized on Sunday due to a blood infection... She seemed to be doing okay, but last night we had a scare. They called to have the family come up to the hospital. She had taked a turn, she had a fever, and her breathing was labored. Her body is fighting the blood infection as well as a urinary tract infection (that she has had for 5 days and has gone untreated). They weren't sure if she was going to make it, so they called us all up.
They treated her with Tylenol which helped with the fever, had a chest x-ray and a blessing by President Conley and Jim Gartner and antibiotic drip. She started to come around. She had some issues with fluid around her lungs/heart that impeded her breathing, so they gave her a diuretic which kept her running during the night, but she slept well in spite of that.
This morning the nurse said that she believes the doctor knows what the blood infection is from, but we haven't heard yet.
I have never been so scared in my life... no one ever wants to get that call and I'm so glad that she able to pull herself through. It simply wasn't her time to go, so she didn't.
She will be in the hospital for at least 2 more days... please say a little prayer for my Grandma!

Seriously?!?

What is this world coming to? Just when I think everything in my life is going great... bam... it hits me out of nowhere.
Once in a blue moon I like to treat myself to a very special (& expensive) lunch. Every couple months I like to go to Schelde's for Soup and Salad... I always get Broccoli Cheddar soup and make my salad to go. I enjoy coming back to my office, eating my salad and savoring my amazing soup. It's just so good!! Today was my special day... soup and salad day. I drove to Schelde's, got my food and headed back to my office. I ate my salad and immediately dove into my favorite soup... mmm... how delicious it was, a couple bites in and
wait...
what is this...
this can't be right...
no...
why...
There it was...

an onion!!! Ewww....

Surly this must have been a mistake... a chunk of onion must have fallen in while they were making the soup.
I picked it out and went on my merry way.
I got about 3 more bites in before I saw another piece of onion.
This made me want to search further and sure enough... my bowl of broccoli cheddar soup had somehow turned into broccoli onion cheddar soup. How disappointing :(
Anyone who knows me, knows I hate onions.
I did my best to pick them out and keep eating, but I just couldn't. It was all too much for me to handle, I threw it away and have vowed to myself to find a new favorite soup. I just can't go back to someone who has hurt me so badly...
so today we say goodbye... goodbye to a delicious friend!
It was a great time while it lasted!!

Happy (Belated) Halloween

I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!!
I had such a good one this year too...
It started with a visit to see the cutest fireman! Jake...

I wasn't in the mood to carve my pumpkin this year, so I let my husband do it. (Please note the DeWalt drill next to the pumpkin) He's so creative.

Curtis and Princess passed out candy to all the little trick or treaters...
... and we had one very special ladybug show up... Miss Marlee, the cutest ladybug EVER!
The pumpkin actually turned out pretty cute. (We had 3 people ask how we made such perfect circles... we never gave away Curtis' secret)
I hope you all had a great Halloween!!

It's true...

Shocking but true... I'm finally a wife! Can you believe it?

Curtis & I "tied the knot" on October 4th. It doesn't feel any different to be a wife, but at the same time it does. Does that make any sense?
Everything went as well as it could... the weather was great, the dress fit like a glove, the hair looked nice, the girls looked gorgeous, the boys (especially Curtis) looked handsome, my dad didn't make me cry and everyone (well almost everyone) that we love were there.
Here are a few pictures that Carol took... I'll get some up from the photographer as soon as I get them.

Not sure what I was looking at but for whatever reason I love this pic... weren't the flowers pretty?

Lexi and Marlee getting ready to head down the isle
The almost Mr. & Mrs
Our cake... it was so yummy!
Finally Mr & Mrs Curtis Moore
Next to come in our lives.... BABIES!

38 very short days

This will be a short one... I just have a couple things to say...

I can't believe I'm getting married in 38 days... it just doesn't seem real. I've always known I would marry Curtis, but it's really happening! Yikes!!
There is still so much to do, but I know it will all come together like it's supposed to.

This and That

I'm a little new to the blogging world, so give me a couple minutes to figure all of this out.

A little bit about us... for those of you who don't know. Curtis is an electrician for Windemuller and has been with them for almost 7 years. I work full-time as a licensed assistant to Carol Franklin, Realtor and part-time at a jewelry store. I love both of my jobs, but I hate working so much.

We have 2 kids (our cats) Buster and Princess, and I love being a "mom" to them. I treat them as if they were my children, they are VERY loved!

Curtis and I are currently planning our wedding (well... mostly I'm planning and he just shakes his head yes or no) We are getting married October 4th and I'm so excited to be a wife! I can't wait to start a family... that is after all the biggest goal in my life... to be a mommy.

I don't lead a very exciting life... but when something fun happens... you'll know.
